Climbing Towers

Hill towns in southern France are ubiquitous and I never tire of them. Each carries its own sense of mystery and surviving the unsurvivable: weather, wars and Time itself. This little village in the Rhône valley is no exception. surrounded by vineyards, it rises nobly from the landscape without an ounce of pretence. The vertical lines of the towers and cypress add the perfect visual punctuation to the poem of endurance.
