Although colors like the blue on this door and these shutters can often draw the eye, further reflection brings the awareness that its the centuries of life stories such things have witnessed as wel as the relationships of shapes that sustain our interest in the long haul. I spent over a week painting doors and windows in the mystical town of Sauve in Southwest France. The images still nourish me in a haunting way.
