I had a memorable artistic adventure in the Cévennes Mountains the fall of 2021. It was my first time back to France since the Pandemic, and we were some of the first Americans to be encountered in two years. Our apartment had an enclosed courtyard with balconies that could have been a scene for "Romeo and Juliette." Below were various large glazed planters spilling over with red geraniums, giving their last burst of color before autumn's end. This energetic little painting, done on site, captures the mustard glaze and red blossoms of one of them in great style. The simple dark frame has a figured silver inner edge. Simply elegant and measuring 10x12.
