Painting along the Auxois River, a gentleman appeared out of nowhere with a tray holding glasses and a decanter of water. He later reappeared and invited us into his secret walled garden. At the end of out painting session, there we were, inside his stone house washing up and visiting. This painting captures the casual(but classy) charm of his living room. Now you may understand my obsession with open doors.
