La Bohème: Parisian Apartment

La Bohème: Parisian Apartment: This is an oil painting of a scene originally painted in soft pastel. It's without a doubt the most romantic apartment I've ever inhabited. Owned by a retired Corsican movie and TV actor, it evokes all the sense of theater one could ever desire. The painting strikes a lovely play between the dark room and the afternoon light flowing through the window facing the courtyard. Shoes in my paintings are humble symbols of life's experiences and adventures. Here we have both house shoes and hiking boots. Take it from there!
