It was a treat to spend a week teaching, painting, and catching up with old friends in Semur-en-Auxois, one of my favorite Burgundian villages. Day trips took us to other gems like Flavigny, where much of the movie "Chocolat" was filmed, as well as the classy epicurean city of Dijon, world-famous for its mustard. At the end of our week in Burgundy, Jim and I had a night alone in Paris, roaming Montmartre and the Canal St. Martin the next morning, before saying goodby: he going home, and I off to Luxembourg for a week painting new territory.
